WE ARE STILL HERE, WE JUST LOOK DIFFERENT! OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW WE NORMALLY SAY – FIND OUT WHY
Out with the old and in with the new some may say: Find out why we have made a company rebrand
As many we faced a hard time through lock down and the current pandemic, now we see many restrictions being eased and lifted with people and jobs all returning to the ‘new norm’ to say we haven’t reflected would be simply not true. We asked ourselves many questions through this period:
Do we stand out?
What is our identity, our vision?
When we return, how can we reshape our brand?
Do we even like how our company image is seen and heard?
THE ANSWER WE CAME TO WAS WE NEEDED TO RESHAPE, REMODEL AND RECREATE OUR BRAND IDENTITY. WHY YOU ASK?
Our current logo and colours we feel are dull with no impact could say outdated, the running man is not unique to our brand, we have sat in meetings with other companies with the same running man and after many thoughts we now see the running man running away from the name Direct Sports provision which is the complete opposite to what we want to achieve. When we mention dull, to us Red & Grey may not be the best colour pallet to of used. Every colour has several meanings although there are many positives to a colour we focused on the negatives for example:
Red – Anger, Defiance, Aggression, Strain, Danger, Visual impact and demanding attention.
Grey – Boredom, Depression, Lack of confidence
Combing these two negatives together it only led to one decision and that was change
With the aim to create a closer bond between us and you as our clients we needed to enrich our vision so you when you see our brand you know you are very much involved, we have already had feedback on our new ident with:
“United in 1 group for both boys & girls.”
“Intertwined and Togetherness”
For the complete journey and for your understanding lets explore the positives of the new colours:
Blue: Peace, reduce stress, relaxation, calmness, reflection, Confidence, Honesty and reliability
Yellow: Creativity, Perception, Mentality, Warmth, Happiness, Energy, Emotional Strength, Friendliness, Increased Mental Activity and Awareness

For us as many company’s social media forms a huge part of everyone’s journey. Question, What’s the most common hashtag we use? Yes, if you said #DSPro you are correct.
Now look at the Logo again, do you see it? The intertwined blue and yellow is our unique Hashtag, we hope now when you see it you think “oh what’s the team at DSPro doing?” It also was designed to resemble sport in the shape of a ball, our first thought was a Volleyball on a beach with sand and sky’s all around – what was yours?
You will notice the logo can be recognised with the following:
Sports Camps = #DSPRO
School = Logo and professional writing to the side
Schools call us Direct Sports so we emphasised this in Bold but not forgetting ‘provision’ as that’s what we do we provide high quality Sports and activity service Directly to all, and yes some are still guilty to calling us Sports Direct but we will get there! However the rumour has it, the name did originate from flipping the wording of Sports Direct around to Direct Sports with meaning whilst sat in traffic outside the shop in Worcester.
Mission is to get all Children, Parents and Schools referring to us as team DSPro on all tags and communications.
Our direction of the company was also changing slightly before covid-19 under our
DSPROHEALTH WHICH STANDS FOR:
Now more than ever we can all agree our children’s and our own Mental Health and Wellbeing is crucial!! For many we find our release in activity whether it is a morning walk to home/gym workout or social competitive sport in a team. To a line ourselves with our new colours as we focus in our return we have many programmes and supporting provision for all to achieve personal goals from teacher CPD in Physical Education to now working in partnership with LivWell – Find out more here where we are directly supporting schools and teacher to tackle pupil health and wellbeing head on across Worcestershire and The Cotswolds, empowering and encouraging children to equip them with strategies to become the best version of themselves.
